Traffic Calming Focuses On Franklin Boulevard; Statehouse Update

Drivers continually fly down your street at double the speed limit or more. It's not a safe feeling, for motorists, bicyclists or walkers. The question is: What's the best way to get drivers to lay off the gas? Can traffic-calming street designs help? Planners are looking for answers right now with a traffic diversion experiment on Franklin Boulevard on Cleveland's West Side.  We'll discuss the Franklin options and look at the need for traffic calming plans throughout Northeast Ohio.  Rather than a goal of unimpeded vehicular traffic, can streets be made calmer and safer for all? Later, our weekly Statehouse update.
