Ohio First Lady Promotes Childhood Literacy; Statehouse Update; "When Mourning Turned Into Dancing"
Mark Simone, youth minister at the Federated Church in Chagrin Falls, first traveled to South Africa just after that nation's racist Apartheid policy had ended. He's returned 16 times, learning about the people and the struggle to overcome Apartheid's toxic legacy. As Simone notes in his new book, there are seeds of hope. He shares perspective with us this hour. First up this hour, news from Columbus, including yesterday's visit to Warrensville Heights by First Lady Fran DeWine to promote children's literacy with a plan to free get books in the hands of all Cuyahoga County children. And another year, another new coach for the Cleveland Browns. Will Minnesota's Kevin Stefanski stop the coaching carousel?
