President Biden and many Ohio lawmakers descended on New Albany, an area just outside Columbus, earlier this month for the groundbreaking of Intel’s $20 billion silicon chip factory that will be built on one thousand acres of land there.

Future phases of the project could expand to a $100 billion investment, and could result in high-paying tech jobs across the state, including here in Northeast Ohio.

The Intel CEO said at the groundbreaking, “The rustbelt is dead. The silicon heartland begins.”

This hour on the "Sound of Ideas," we’re checking in on the state of Northeast Ohio’s economy, given this big development in the state. Will our region actually feel the impact of the chip manufacturing industry? What other investments are happening here locally?

Here to share some insight on regional business development is the Greater Cleveland Partnership’s President and CEO, Baiju Shah.
