Cleveland Uses Extended Year Calendars at Some Schools

For most students, summer break is just beginning. Remember counting down the hours to an eternity of homework-free days? Not every student will experience that, though. Many schools, including some in Northeast Ohio, have extended or even year-round school. It's not a punishment: Proponents say extended school with more frequent, shorter breaks is better for students. Is it?
