Your Answers: “What issue would you focus on?”

In this episode, we get to know the candidates running for governor of Ohio. For our Write In Question this week we want to know: If you were governor for a day, “What issue would you focus on?”

---

Dear NewsDepth,

If I was governor I would focus on kids safety and mental health/ physical health. I don't think it's talked about enough. I'm glad our soon to be Ohio governor is going to focus on our safety and mental health. But it would also be fun to make ice cream mandatory every week but I don't think people would be too happy.

I would worry about the prices. Money is a big part of life and some people don't have enough to buy food. I would try to help. I would buy blankets and food for them. I know they struggle. I've always wanted to help those people. Anyways, that's what I would worry about.

Dear News Depth,

An issue I would focus on would be bullying. This is because children get bullied every year. 1 in 4 kids get bullied every year and some even drop out in fear of getting bullied! This is why I would focus on bullying.

Dear Newsdepth,

The issue I would most focus on is the homelessness. I would choose the homelessness because people don't deserve to not have a home. I would start off by making food for 100,000,000 people in need! That is what I would focus on if I were a governor.

— Leah, Fort Meigs Elementary

If I was governor for a day the issue I would focus on would be spreading awareness about people with disabilities and how to treat them. Also I would focus on making sure places are more accessible for people with disabilities. The reason I would focus on the first issue is because I don't think schools do that great of a job with focusing on the fact that people with disabilities can do everything they do, just in different ways. The reason I would focus on the second issue is so that anyone with a disability can do everything someone without one can. This is the issue I would focus on and why I would focus on them. P.S. I don't like the word disabled because calling someone disabled just sounds wrong, see if you can think of a better word for it.
