NewsDepth 2021-2022 | Episode 13

In this week's episode, we learn about a new dinosaur discovered in Missouri and see how scientists in Italy use bacteria to save precious artifacts.

We head to a lab where medical technologists search for new coronavirus variants. Margaret does some experimenting of her own with the "five second rule" in this week's  Spot on Science.

Finally, we want you to get creative! Gabriel takes a look at the flag of Cleveland and asks why no one seems to know about it. He's got us inspired to design a  NewsDepth banner with your help!

bacteria (noun): Tiny single-celled organisms that live almost everywhere. Some can make you sick, and others can have positive consequences.

medical/clinical laboratory technologist (noun): Someone who performs complicated tests in a laboratory to find, treat, or prevent illnesses.

species (noun): A group of similar organisms that can reproduce with one another.

We learn about Cleveland's little-known flag. Now we want you to:  Design a NewsDepth banner for us! Then tell us about your design.

Use this printout to get started on your banner!

You can use the inbox form to submit your answers. We will share some of your best letters in the next episode.

For this week’s poll, we want to know:  Do you follow the "five second rule"? Yep. No, yuck! I used to, but now I won't.  Click here to vote!
