NewsDepth 2021-2022 | Episode 10

In this week's episode, a vaccine for 5 to 11-year-olds is finally here! We hear what it's like to get a shot from some of the first kids to do so.

World leaders are meeting at COP26 to discuss climate change. Meanwhile, the impacts of the global problems are seen in the loss of coastal towns in Senegal and the growth of invasive aquatic plants in Lake Tahoe.

Plus, it's time for some cultural celebrations: learn about Native American Heritage Month, Diwali and the Day of the Dead. And for Veterans Day, we learn about the vets in your life and visit memorials across the state in  Know Ohio.

alma mater (noun): A school or college that someone has attended

Diwali (noun): The Hindu, Sikh, and Buddhist celebration of the triumph of light over darkness

We learn about several recent holidays including Diwali and the Day of the Dead. Now we want you to:  What cultural celebrations do you participate in? Tell us what makes your celebrations meaningful or fun!

You can use the inbox form to submit your answers. We will share some of your best letters in the next episode.

For this week’s poll, we want to know:  Does your town have a memorial for veterans? Yes. No.  Click here to vote!
