We take a look back one hundred years ago to July of 1917.
The place? Camp Sherman, Ohio -- where the Army's 83rd Infantry Division was formed. During World War I it saw action as the only American unit in Italy.
After being reactivated during World War II, the division landed on the beaches of Normandy in 1944, -- and saw combat action in the D-Day invasion .. And the Battle of the Bulge.
This week, the 83rd Division's veterans and their descendents are in Cleveland for reunion events leading up to a memorial service on Saturday at the Old Stone Church in Public Square.
