Bringing Fresh Fruit – And Hope – To A Rural Food Desert

Food insecurity occurs when someone doesn't know where their next meal is coming from or has limited access to food.

Back in 2015, the Greater Cleveland food bank reported about 312-thousand people were 'food insecure', in the six counties it serves.

But it's Cuyahoga County that has the most people in that group --- approximately 235-thousand.

One of the reasons a person may have limited access to food, is living in an area with no grocery store.

That is known as a food desert.
