Both major-party presidential campaigns will be in Ohio on Monday, as polls show the presidential contest is in a virtual tie.
The week kicks off with Vice President Mike Pence at Columbus concrete contractor Nickolas Savko & Sons on Monday, as President Donald Trump prepares for a rally in Florida, his first since his hospital stay because of his COVID diagnosis after the presidential debate in Cleveland.
Meanwhile, former Vice President Joe Biden has two stops planned in Ohio Monday. He’ll be at a United Auto Workers hall in Toledo and what’s being called a "voter mobilization event" in Cincinnati. They're among his first visits to Ohio since becoming the Democratic nominee.
This, plus a flood of TV adsfrom both campaigns, suggest Republicans and Democrats alike believe they can take Ohio, which Trump won by eight points in 2016. The most recent Baldwin Wallace University Great Lakes Poll shows a statistical tie in Ohio, with Trump in a slight lead over Biden, but trailing in Michigan, Wisconsin and Pennsylvania.
