Supply and Demand Will Likely Push Up Your Natural Gas Bill

If you have been using gas heating to get through the recent cold spells, you probably used a bit more natural gas to stave off the chill. This month you might have to pay for that, and your natural gas bills will likely be higher. Some of the increase will be because of rising prices of natural gas futures traded on the open market. But spokesman Martin Berkowitz with the Office of the Ohio Consumers' Council says higher bills might also just be because of natural supply and demand.
