5 Things To Do In NEO: Virtual Dance, Pride Ride And More

GroundWorks DanceTheater presents virtual premiere of dance film "Axis" by Adam Barruch [Alice Chacon]

One of Cleveland's favorite parades returns in a socially-distanced production while dancers make their moves online and onstage. Here are five artistic happenings you can enjoy virtually or in person in Northeast Ohio during the next week.

Grog Shop

Local favorite the New Soft Shoe is back in action rocking in front of socially-distanced audiences at various venues in Northeast Ohio. On Thursday, June 3, at 7:30 p.m., this popular Gram Parsons cover band takes the stage of the Grog Shop in Cleveland Heights.

Foothill Galleries

The history of Northeast Ohio's music scene is charted in the new photography exhibit "Still Performance" at Foothill Galleries in Cleveland Heights. More than 80 concert images by 21 area photographers, such as Janet Macoska, Anastasia Pantsios and Roger Mastroianni, are featured in this juried show, which opens Thursday, June 3.

LGBT Community Center of Greater Cleveland

The annual Pride in the CLE parade is back after last year's virtual event with a socially-distanced Pride Ride presented by the LGBT Community Center of Greater Cleveland Saturday, June 5. The ride begins at 10 a.m. in Cleveland's Edgewater Park and is open to public spectators, however registration to participate in the ride itself is now closed.

GroundWorks DanceTheater

" Axis" is the new dance film by choreographer Adam Barruch, commissioned and performed by GroundWorks DanceTheater with videography by Alice Chacon. The virtual production debuts Saturday, June 5, at 7 p.m., and will be available for 72 hours following the premiere.

Canton Palace

Summit County's Dianna Durkin Dance Studio presents its 60th recital Saturday and Sunday at 4 p.m., onstage at the Canton Palace Theatre. Located in the city of Green, DDDS has taught young, aspiring dancers in a non-competitive atmosphere since 1960.
