Youngstown City Schools will soon see new governance with a new CEO and a new commissioner.
The Youngstown City Schools Academic Distress Commission Tuesday announced Krish Mohip, a Chicago school administrator, will be the new Chief Executive Officer for the district. Mohip was the commission’s unanimous choice for the position after interviewing 6 candidates. Next week, he will be in Youngstown to meet with community members.
Shortly after the selection, commission member Dr. Laura Meeks announced she was stepping down effective tomorrow. Interim State Superintendent Lonny Rivera appointed John Richard, the Associate Executive Director of the Ohio Association of Secondary School Administrators, to take Meek’s post.
