When you look back at the great presidents of our country, how often do you think about, say, Rutherford B. Hayes? Or William Howard Taft? Turns out, both presided over the kind of growth a modern president would drool over, but without a crisis to solve or a despot to topple, they head toward history's dustbin. Monday morning, celebrate President's Day with us as we look to answer the question: What goes into a presidential legacy you can be proud of? Later in the hour, we'll talk with a historian who can deflate some of the mythology surrounding Lincoln's Gettysburg Address. Join us for The Sound of Ideas.

Presidents Day - David Cohen, Assoc. prof. Political Science, University of Akron, Bliss Institute; David Hammett, history professor Case Western Reserve University. Gettysburg Gospel - Gabor Boritt, author, The Gettysburg Gospel: The Lincoln Speech that Nobody Knows.
