WELL SPEAKING OF DOGS, WE GOT A LOT OF GREAT LETTERS FROM YOU ABOUT OUR LAST SHOW. WE ASKED IF YOU THOUGHT PEOPLE SHOULD BE ABLE TO OWN DOG BREEDS THAT ARE CONSIDERED VICIOUS LIKE PIT BULLS.

KENDALL FROM WAYNESFIELD-GOSHEN WROTE TO US ABOUT HER OWN PUP.  “I THINK PEOPLE SHOULD BE ABLE TO OWN "VICIOUS" DOGS BECAUSE A I OWN A PIT BULL. HER NAME IS LUCY AND SHE IS VERY SWEET. SHE NEVER BITES AND SHE ALWAYS GREETS ME WHEN I COME HOME. PLUS "VICIOUS" DOG ARE NOT VICIOUS THEY ARE JUST BIG SWEET DOGS WHO ARE MISUNDERSTOOD. DOGS WILL ONLY BE VICIOUS IF THEY ARE THREATENED OR IF THEY HAVE BEEN ABUSED (HOPEFULLY NOT) OR IF THEY JUST DON'T UNDERSTAND. AS I SAID THOSE VICIOUS DOGS ARE JUST BIG LUMPS OF FLUFFY LOVE GOOP THAT JUST WANT ATTENTION”

HUMM FLUFFY LOVE GOOP?

ADALIA FROM FORD INTERMEDIATE CAME UP WITH A GOOD IDEA, WRITING: “I THINK THAT PEOPLE SHOULD BE ALLOWED TO OWN DOGS THAT ARE VICIOUS BUT THEY SHOULD TRAIN THE DOG SO IT DOES NOT ATTACK PEOPLE SO NO ONE GETS HURT. I THINK THIS BECAUSE I WOULD HATE TO TAKE DOGS AWAY FROM THEIR OWNERS.”

GRACE FROM CRISSEY ELEMENTARY BOILED THE ISSUE DOWN SIMPLY FOR US. SHE WROTE: “I THINK THAT IF YOUR DOG HARMS ANYONE THEN YOU SHOULD BE BANNED FROM IT, BUT IF YOUR DOG DOESN'T HARM ANYONE THEN YOU SHOULD NOT BE BANNED FROM IT.”

KYLIE FROM GLENWOOD INTERMEDIATE SAYS:
“I THINK THAT YOU SHOULD BE ALLOWED TO OWN VICIOUS DOGS. BECAUSE WHAT’S THE HARM? THE DOGS REACT TO THE HUMAN’S ACTIONS AND INSIDE THEY ARE SO LOVEABLE. I HAVE A RED NOSED PIT BULL SHE IS THE BEST DOG. I MEAN I SEE WHERE PEOPLE ARE AFRAID OF THEM. BUT STILL WHENEVER I HELP OUT AT THE STARK COUNTY HUMANE SOCIETY ALL I SEE IS PIT BULLS. MY DOG IS THE BEST DOG I HAVE EVER HAD. I AM ON TEAM GO FOR PIT BULLS.

ABBY FROM SUMMIT ELEMENTARY SIDED WITH ALLOWING THE DOGS:
“I THINK THAT PIT BULLS SHOULD BE ALLOWED IN LAKEWOOD BECAUSE IT IS ONLY CERTAIN DOGS WHO ATTACK PEOPLE. PEOPLE ARE JUST LIKE DOGS. THERE ARE PROBABLY MORE HUMANS WHO ATTACK EACH OTHER THAN DOGS. BUT WE DON'T BAN PEOPLE FROM CERTAIN PLACES…. I THINK MOST PEOPLE GET ATTACKED BECAUSE THEY GET IN DOGS’ FACES OR ARE NOT MOVING AWAY WHEN A DOG GROWLS AT THEM. MY DOGS SOMETIMES GROWL BUT THEY DON'T BITE US. SOME DOGS ARE MEAN BECAUSE THEY HAVE BEEN ABUSED BUT THAT DOESN'T MEAN THEY CAN'T BE NICE AGAIN.”

THANKS KENDAL, ADALIA, GRACE, KYLIE AND ABBY. KEEP THOSE GREAT LETTERS COMING.
