U.S. Attorney Leads Conference On Opioids

The opioid crisis continues to ravage Ohio, leaving virtually no community untouched. Last year, 727 people died from opioid-related causes just in Cuyahoga County. Five years ago a task force formed to study the rising rates of heroin use and develop action plans to combat the issue. The results of its efforts and what to do next will be discussed and analyzed at a conference this week hosted by the U.S. Attorney's Office and the Cleveland Clinic entitled "Opioids: A Crisis Still Facing Our Entire Region." To learn more about the summit of medical, social service and criminal justice leaders, ideastream’s Rick Jackson spoke with Justin Herdman, U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Ohio.
