A New Approach to Fighting Alzheimer's

The Cleveland Clinic is gearing up to make cognitive tests part of regular check-ups for older patients. The goal is to catch the beginning stages of Alzheimer's and stem the progression of the disease. Stephen Rao, Ph.D., of Cleveland Clinic’s Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health, described the new regimen to ideastream’s Rick Jackson. They also talked about how and when to discuss Alzheimer’s with loved ones. June 21 is  Summer Solstice – the longest day of the year and one that the Alzheimer’s Association targets to raise awareness and money for the care and support of patients and caregivers.
