Millions of dollars have poured into the state treasury, thanks to an Ohio tax amnesty program that’s now in progress.

Ohioans who owe sales, income, and other taxes are being offered a break if they come clean now and pay up. Tax officials have estimated they will eventually take in about $36 million once the revenue from the six-week-long amnesty program is processed. They say more than a third of the cash has already come in.

Joe Testa is Ohio’s tax commissioner. He says this is the first tax amnesty in six years.

Statehouse correspondent Bill Cohen provides an update.
