There are a few more days left to attend the Ohio State Fair. But as Ohio Public Radio’s Jo Ingles reports, this year’s fair has already broken an attendance record.
This past Sunday was a perfect day in Columbus- sunny but not too hot and not too cold.
Apparently a lot of Ohioans thought it was perfect weather to go to the Ohio State Fair. More than 115 thousand people went to the fair on that day, setting a new daily attendance record. The number tops the previous attendance record of more than 110 thousand set in 2006.
Fair General Manager Virgil Strickler says he thinks the beautiful weather on that day helped bring in the record breaking crowd. The latest figures show 350 thousand people have passed through the fair gates so far this year.
The fair will run through the end of the day Sunday August 4th.
