Northeast Ohio Obama Volunteer Will Speak in Prime Time

Monica Early is a grandmother and champion bridge player from a smalll town in Summit County.

"Actually if you grow up in Cuyahoga Falls, you call it Kuh-hogga Falls."

Ordinarily, Early would be on the job at a North Canton insurance firm. Both cities are Republican strongholds, But until recently she was apolitical - much more interested in her family or a good card tournament.

Tonight she'll tell her story to 75,000 at Invesco Field in Denver and to millions of Democratic convention viewers.

Early: "It's not just about what I have. I have two daughters that are waitressess. They don't don't have healthcare because they can't afford it -- they've got waitress salaries, and they're trying to pay rent and put gas in the car."

Tonight Early is one of six grassroots supporters from different states scheduled to speak at the Convention. She'll take the podium between 9 and 9:30 p.m..
