Akron-based Myers Industries is closing down it's Fostoria plant, located southwest of Sandusky. The plant makes plastic parts for heavy trucks. About 50 jobs will be cut when the plant's operations are moved to a larger facility. Myers posted a $46 million loss last year. In a statement the company's CEO said the closure is "a difficult but necessary move due to the downturn in industrial, heavy truck and other markets."
