Gov. John Kasich says he’s considering traveling to Switzerland next month to a major worldwide conference that features some of the most powerful and famous people in the world. Kasich says he’s been invited to participate in the annual World Economic Forum in Davos.
KASICH: "They want to talk sort of about the Ohio miracle. That's really -- what they really want me to talk about. How's Ohio recovered, what does it mean, what did you learn. It would be a chance to display what we've been able to do in our state. And that's appealing to me."
Among the participants at last year’s Davos conference were Nicholas Sarkozy, German chancellor Angela Merkel, British Prime Minister David Cameron, and Russian prime minister Dmitry Medvedev.
Previous attendees include Nelson Mandela, Bill Gates and Bono. Kasich says he was invited to Davos when he was in Congress in the 90s, but didn’t go and that he hasn’t made up his mind whether to attend this time.
