Ohio Governor John Kasich signed the new two year, seven billion dollar state transportation budget into law Wednesday. He says the new budget, which was unanimously approved in the Ohio Senate, will mean the state can maximize its dollars because it allows more public private partnerships.
"I’m very excited about the provision of the public, private partnership because even though we have 6.8 billion to spend, it’s never going to be enough for all the needs that we have in our state," Kasich says. "So we believe that through a public, private partnership, we can actually get a heck of a lot more infrastructure improved in Ohio for less of the cost than it normally take. That means that we’ll be healthier as a state."
Kasich says the transportation projects in this budget will also help provide jobs for Ohioans.
