Former Governor Ted Strickland Rallies With Striking Strongsville Teachers

Former Gov. Ted Strickland and a representative from Sen. Sherrod Brown’s office voiced their support before hundreds of teachers and their allies.

Strickland said he supports the teachers’ rights to demand what they believe they deserve.

STRICKLAND: "Public education is facing difficult times. There is a drawing back on the part of a lot of people in the support of our schools. And that's detrimental to all of us, regardless of where we fall along the political spectrum."

The union says there’s still no contract deal in sight with the board of education. Strongsville Education Association president Tracy Linscott told the crowd to spend some time with their families this weekend—and be ready to strike again on Monday.
