Cleveland Councilman on Trump Budget: "It's a Pretty Dire Picture"

Ward 15 Cleveland City Councilman Matt Zone (Nick Casetele/ideastream)

President Donald Trump’s proposed budget is getting strong reaction from politicians and community leaders in Cleveland.  They’re concerned about the president’s desire to eliminate community development block grants, economic development grants and funding for the Great Lakes Restoration Initiative.  City councilman Matt Zone, who represents the 15th Ward on Cleveland’s West Side, was recently in Washington, D.C. for the annual conference of the National League of Cities.  He’s president of the League, the oldest and largest organization representing local government leaders.  He spoke with ideastream's Amy Eddings about the budget proposal and his meetings earlier this week with Trump Administration officials.
