Blood Phobias Real, Treatable

Share on Facebook Share Share on Twitter Share

Why it is that some people truly cannot stand the thought, sight, or smell of blood... and in some cases, even just the needles that draw blood?
Is it an illness?

ideastream's Rick Jackson spoke with Dr. Ethan Schafer, a child psychologist and adjunct professor at Case Western Reserve University.
He began by asking why some people faint... at the sight of blood?

Dr. Schafer is a Child Psychologist for both The Lawrence School in Sagamore Hills and University School in Shaker Heights; and teaches graduate classes at Case Western Reserve University.
