Be Well: Teen Moms and Their Lives

Today we join ideastream's health reporter Sarah Jane Tribble as she talks about the factors that drive teen pregnancies with Case Western Reserve University sociologist Mary Patrice Erdmans. Erdmans is co-author of a new book, called "On Becoming a Teen Mom: Life Before Pregnancy."

Erdmans interviewed more than 100 teenage mothers about how they grew up and their pregnancies. Their stories suggest that preventing teen pregnancies is more complicated than simply giving young girls birth control. A warning: Some of the content in this interview may not be appropriate for young listeners.

We join the conversation as Erdmans explains what the book is about.
