AG Sues Cuyahoga Firm and Two Others in Foreclosure Prevention Scam

Some companies charge fees for services like loan modifications, and then don’t follow through. Others have been providing advice that ends up hurting the consumer. Cordray filed suit Thursday against three companies, saying the firms are violating Ohio’s Consumer Sales Practices Act and Debt Adjusters Act. Cordray is targeting Foreclosure Home Assistance in Cuyahoga County, as well as companies in Franklin and Greene County. Foreclosure Home Assistance is accused of charging consumers $1500 for loan medications, forbearance plans, and other services and then not delivering its services.
