2016 Wine Competition Winners Available to Sample at the 20th Anniversary WVIZ/PBS Grand Tastings and Seminars

Nov. 2, 2016 (CLEVELAND) – While the city and country await Wednesday’s World Series game to find out the fate of the Cleveland Indians, ideastream is proud to announce winners of a different kind. The 2016 Wine Competition dictates which wines will don double-gold, gold, silver and bronze medals at the 20 th Anniversary WVIZ/PBS Grand Tastings on Nov. 11 and 12 at the Terrace Club at Progressive Field.

During the wine judging, 12 judges tasted more than 130 wines and judged them by appearance, aroma, taste/texture, aftertaste and overall impression. The judging team featured local retailers and restaurateurs and educated wine-savvy volunteers who are currently taking or have taken sommelier classes. The top three wines in each category (with a minimum score of 15 points) were awarded a gold, silver or bronze medal. Double gold medals went to wines with the highest scores overall.
